Construction Technologies Based on Geotechnics and GeosyntheticsIn the early 1970's, Nilex introduced innovative geosynthetics and related materials to the construction industry. While most geosynthetics are easily installed by generally skilled contractors, certain emerging technologies required a combination of specialized skills, and unique equipment to allow efficient and effective installation and performance. Nilex formed its construction division to support its customer base with professional contracting and installation services. Over the next decades, Nilex invested heavily in technology, equipment, and trained staff to develop exceptional contracting capabilities to continue to support our clients in the expert installation of our products. The intent of this effort is not to compete with, but to compliment our contractor clients with services and capabilities too specialized, unique and specific for the average general contractor to warrant in house development. Nilex has focused its scope of specialties to the lining/containment application, and installing drainage materials vertically into soils. Nilex has made the capital investment, and has completed the learning curve so you don't have to, and your project can finish on time and budget. Lining:From the large landfills, water treatment plants, tailings ponds, and heap leach pads, to residential or commercial ponds and lagoons, Nilex crews have project experience that we can draw upon. Each project has it's nuances, whether it is a large and wide open "blow and go" type of project, or a small technically demanding project with many angles, sumps, and penetrations. Nilex has more recently seen the need for a specialized group to apply these lessons learned in the geomembrane lining industry to the petro-chemical industry to revive or extend the lifespan of the expensive tanks that are such critical assets for their companies. Ground/Soil ImprovementThe wick drain installation business is very competitive, and as such, Nilex has focused on developing technologies and equipment that insert wick drain laden mandrels into soft soils at a very high speed. This specialized skill has allowed Nilex to add additional activities that benefit from this expertise, such as Earth Quake Drains, Piezometers and other materials that may need to be inserted into soils vertically, or at angles. |
