Strip Drains Save Money By Replacing Gravel
Providing an outlet for the water to drain without creating backpressure to the wick drains is a critical component of the wick drain system. The gravel or sand drainage blanket has been replaced by a geosynthetic strip drain on many projects for the simplest reason - cost savings. In addition to saving money, the fabricated drain provides the design engineer with a more controllable drainage system, eliminating the uncertainties of how contaminants affect the drainage properties of the sand or gravel.
Strip Drain Installation
Nilex field crews are able to install the horizontal strip drain simultaneously with the wick drain, allowing the general contractor to efficiently apply the pre-load/surcharge in a single operation.
